While at the open house for a college today I came across a car with many opinions. Now i do not like our government in general I am not complete totally anti Bush, although I do think he has said far too many dumb things and is in no way charismatic. When he came into office I was 9ish. And i thought he handled 9/11 nicely as a new president, but I do think we have over stayed our welcome in Iraq and now our economy sucks so thanks for that Bush. As far as this election goes I can not really say either guy should be in office because they both seem so inexperienced, although they both have their strong areas which are very good, we just need both in one person.
But my point is that I think this bumper sticker is funny no matter what you support. There was also another one that said: “Practice abstinence; No Bush. No Dick.”
lol.
Over the past, I’d say week-ish, my History class has been all revved up over this “letter to our generation” that they are writing. It had been brought up by a student in the class with political views which im my opinion remain very fixed and closed minded. And was to address our generation (note the group of teenagers who can not vote) and to say how very powerful our vote is and that generally congress should “watch out” because the next group who is going to be voting will be doing it wisely.
So now I would say my political views are looked at by most as being radical. I am one who supports a great deal of what the Zeitgeist Movie has to say, and yes I do believe that 9/11 was a plan of the government. Now I know people FREAK out when they hear me say that, but I think that is because they are too close minded. Seriously open your mind and watch The Zeitgeist Movie and your opinion may change. Mine did.
But I digress, the point of that is to say that most of the time I keep my mouth shut when political talk comes up in class. Though I did not think this letter who actually happen in my class. But it did, so this is when I became concerned because I want to continue to learn about American History. The other history class is learning about Nathaniel Bacon (or something) and I do not know who he is, but I sure would loveee to.
As of now we have lost nearly 2 weeks of valuable class time, which we do not have much of because of our block scheduling and this letter is not even construted yet. Kids do not know what they want to be in it, who should write it, how should it be written, and how long it should be. It KILLSS me. And of course everyone knows I am againist said letter. So as optional assignment I have written an essay as to why I am not excited about this letter.
Don’t you agree that a project of this calber should be apart of an after school club where all its members feel the same way? Cause I do.
In my first attempt to get others opinions I will ask this controversial and hypothetical question:
If there was a baby born and in its spine there was a cure to cancer, but the only way to get the cure was to kill the baby, would you support the idea of killing the baby?
my response:
Yes I would. In this incredibly over populated world, the death of one baby would not make a difference and it would add to how incredibly strong the human race is. Even if this was my child, yes I would still kill it. Though there would be stronger feelings toward the loss, I would rather better humanity. And hey, it one day could save myself or someone else dear to me.
Whats your response?
